2010-2011 Calendar of Events

Friday, July 30th - 7:00 PM

Dear Har Mishpacha Members,

Paula and Randy Salky would like to invite you to a musical Shabbat service on Friday, July 30th at 7:00 p.m., in honor or their daughter Reina’s Bat Mitzvah.  The service will take place at the Steamboat Grand’s outdoor pavilion.

Cantor John Kaplan, of Temple Israel Memphis, will be leading the service, and would love everyone to come and share this musical Shabbat experience with the Salky family.  He arrived in Memphis in 1981 to serve as the Cantor of Temple Israel, one of the largest Reform Jewish congregations in the United States, with over 1,600 families. In addition to his work with the Adult Choir, the Youth Choir and the "Klez-Maniacs!" band, which he created, Cantor Kaplan is the clergy liaison to Temple's committee on congregational caring, God’s Unfinished Business. He has served as Secretary on the Executive Board and Chair of the Committee on Ethics and Appeals of the American Conference of Cantors.

We look forward to sharing in this Mitzvah with the Salky’s and Cantor Kaplan.  They hope to see you there!
